BIRKENHEADCentre ProfileLocated at 71 Roseberry Avenue, Birkenhead’s Lollipops Educare centre provides a warm, welcoming environment where children love to learn. Purpose built in 2006, the centre has been designed to ensure that children aged from three months to five years have everything they need to learn, have fun, and be safe.
Separate Nurseries and Toddlers AreasSeparate under and over two’s areas allow children to receive age-appropriate learning opportunities in a safe, nurturing environment. Our under-two’s area accommodates 16 children, each with their own cot in a warm and quiet sleeping room. With an excellent staff-child ratio of one adult to four children, your baby or toddler receives quality care and attention. Our over-two’s area accommodates 44 children within a treasure-trove of learning and play. This area also includes a separate toddler’s area so that our younger children can begin a safe transition toward the over-two’s area at their own pace without feeling overwhelmed. The staff ratio in the over-two’s area is one adult to eight children so each child receives focused care and quality attention. HoursThe centre operates between 7.30am and 6pm each week day. We are closed only on public and statutory holidays.Getting to know each otherWe have an open door policy and encourage parents/caregivers to spend time at the centre getting to know our educators and the routines that we incorporate into our programme, but for any new enquires it is advisable to make an appointment so that time can be spent with you showing you around our centre.
Outdoor PlayThree outdoor areas have been designed so that under and over two’s have safe, fun, and empowering activities that inspire learning, develop gross motor skills and encourage social play.Nutritious MealsOur in-house cook provides children with a nutritious, balanced menu of morning and afternoon tea and lunch. Fresh fruit and vegetables are always in ready supply and meals are wholesome and home-cooked. In December 2009, the centre was awarded with The Healthy Heart Award from the Heart Foundation – something that we are very proud of.StaffOur centre is committed to employing the best possible educators for your children. We currently employ six qualified teachers with a further four in training. Our staff offer a variety of cultural backgrounds and each contribute to a rich and diverse learning experience for the children in their care. Staff are supported with ongoing training and regular opportunities to attend professional development courses and in-house training. |
