Takapuna’s Lollipops centre was originally a church house for the Takapuna Methodist Church. The centre has been lovingly renovated and expanded into the beautiful, inviting childcare centre that it is today. Located at 1 Tennyson Ave, Takapuna’s Lollipops Educare centre provides a positive, warm, and welcoming environment where children are nurtured and valued for their individual learning strengths and talents.

Lions, Tigers and Cubs (oh my!)

Our centre comprises of three main indoor areas:

• Cubs: Birth to around 20 months
• Tigers: 20 months – 2-3 years
• Lions: 2-3 years – 5 years

Each area has been designed to cater to the developmental stages of each age group. Children move through each area depending on their individual stages rather than solely on their age.

 

Hours

The centre operates between 7.45am and 6pm each week day. We are closed only on public and statutory holidays.

Getting to know each other

We have an open door policy and encourage parents/caregivers to spend time at the centre getting to know our educators and the routines that we incorporate into our programme. We believe it is important to understand and support your values and beliefs within a nurturing learning environment. For any new enquires it is advisable to make an appointment so that time can be spent with you showing you around our centre.

Outdoor Play

Our outdoor play areas have been designed so that children of every age have safe, fun, and empowering activities that inspire learning, develop gross motor skills and encourage social play. Sandpits, water-play, outdoor play equipment, grass areas and gardens provide children with an endless variety of engaging activities that take them on the most incredible adventures. Because our centre is tucked away behind the church in a quiet, traffic-free area, children are able to enjoy outdoor community walks and trips to the Takapuna beach, gardens, and library.

Nutritious Meals

Our in-house cook provides children with yummy morning and afternoon teas and lunches that are nutritionally balanced and promote healthy eating habits.

Staff

Takapuna’s Lollipops Educare centre is committed to employing the best possible educators for your children. Our teachers are either fully qualified and registered or are currently studying towards their qualification and/or work experience in early childhood education.
