Waikato Hospital’s Lollipops Educare centre, located on Pembrooke Street in Hamilton, provides a wonderful, convenient centre where children are part of a nurturing, family oriented environment.

Lollipops Educare Waikato Hospital prides itself on open and honest communication between the centre and home. Staff work hard to build trusting and respectful relationships with families to ensure children have the best possible care and education.

For children to be empowered, our educators provide opportunities for children to create and act on their ideas. We believe that in order for children to develop holistically, we must look at the child as a whole: “cognitively, socially, culturally, emotionally and spiritually,” (Te Whaariki 1996). We believe that all children must be treated as individuals and respected for their uniqueness.

At Lollipops Educare, we believe that the inclusion of family and the community are an integral part of each child’s positive development. We will work with parents in partnership acknowledging their role as their child’s first teacher.



 
 
 
 
 

Separate Areas for Under and Over 2's

Our centre has been designed to meet the specific needs of children’s various developmental stages. Separate babies and toddlers areas allow children to be safely and slowly transitioned without feeling overwhelmed. Each area has a quiet sleep room and access to outdoor play.

 

Hours

The centre operates between 6.30am and 6.30pm each week day.

Getting to know each other

We have an open door policy and encourage parents/caregivers to spend time at the centre getting to know our educators and the routines that we incorporate into our programme. We believe it is important to understand and support your values and beliefs within a nurturing learning environment. For any new enquires it is advisable to make an appointment so that time can be spent with you showing you around our centre.

Nutritious Meals

Children are provided with delicious morning and afternoon teas and lunches that are nutritionally balanced and varied. We currently hold a Healthy Heart award and are happy to cater for individual needs and those with allergy concerns.

Waikato Hospital’s Lollipops Educare centre is committed to employing the best possible educators for your children. We maintain excellent staff ratios and invest in continuing education and professional development. Our staff are dedicated to ensuring your child has the very best care and learning opportunities available. Each of our educators is either fully qualified or in the process of working toward an early childhood education qualification.
