Helen Byrne, Centre Director, Albany

I have been an ECE teacher for over 25years, I hold a diploma of ECE and  am a fully registered teacher.  I have worked in a wide variety of early childhood settings in a number of roles including supervisor.  These settings have included State Kindergartens, Private childcare and Community childcare.  I have also worked for an In-home childcare provider as a visiting tutor.  I have 3 adult children and a very special grandson.  I truly believe that children need to be respected and cared for with the same degree of respect that ideally we would give to adults.  Hence my passion for the RIE and Reggio philosophy practiced within the Lollipop Centres.  Over the years while bringing up my own family I have developed a real respect for working parents and the challenges they face every day in regards to the care for their children.  I truly believe that a parent knows his/her child the best and that the only way to truly meet those needs is within working partnership.
