At Lollipops Educare Glen Eden we believe in building genuine relationships with all those who are a part of the Lollipops Family – educators, children, and whanau. We provide an environment that becomes a home away from home from the youngest infant, to the most independent preschooler. We pride ourselves on our being a strong family unit and aim to provide each child with a personal journey that empowers them to grow into confident learners. We encourage you to read our philosophy to gain more of an insight into how we do this on a daily basis.
 Our Learning Environment
Our Centre has 6 separate learning environments that cater for the different ages and stages of children.
They are:

Under 2s Room – This room is a spacious room catering for infants up to two years of age. It has two separate outdoor areas perfect for providing challenging experiences for both the youngest infants and the active toddlers. A large separate sleeproom allows children to sleep at different times throughout the day. 5 full time educators are there every day to work collaboratively with whanau to provide a caring and stimulating experience full of exploration and attention.

Over 2s Room – The next step in learning for toddlers who have graduated from the Under 2s, this room is once again very spacious offering 5 full time educators for children from 2 – 4 years old. A separate large learning room allows age appropriate experiences to be set up throughout the day and act as a sleep room for those children who require a sleep during the day.

Infants Room – A smaller intimate room for infants aged up to 18 months old with a beautiful natural outdoor environment and 3-4 permanent educators to provide a caring and stimulating day in strong partnership with whanau. A sleeproom is provided for with cots and stretcher beds to allow for a peaceful resttime.

Toddlers Room – After a transition period, the infants move to the toddlers room where children up to 2 ½ are able to explore alongside 4 permanent educators in an environment specifically set up for this age group. An outdoor area shared with the preschool room makes transition a smooth process.

Preschool Room –This room caters for children aged around 2 ½ - 4 years old and is resourced to provide exciting learning experiences for this age group. The 3 permanent educators ensure that the children are provided with a stimulating learning environment with a developing independence.

Rising Fives Room – Children from all rooms join the Rising Fives Room when they turn four as a transition to school room. This room focuses on developing independence and developing all the Foundation Skills for Learning required before formal learning such as reading, writing, and maths can take place. This room is the final chapter of the children’s time at Lollipops Educare Glen Eden where the skills and learning that has taken place over the previous years come together and we see confident and competent learners head off to school.

 Outdoor play
Each outdoor area is well resourced with a wide selection of equipment to encourage creativity, fine and gross motor skills, language skills, and logical thinking. |

 Hours
The centre operates between 7am and 6pm each week day except public holidays. We are open over the Christmas holiday season excluding statutory holidays. |

 Getting to know each other
We have an open door policy and encourage parents/caregivers to spend time at the centre getting to know our educators and the routines that we incorporate into our programme, but for any new enquires it is advisable to make an appointment so that time can be spent with you showing you around our centre.
Your child’s learning and development milestones are documented in individual profile books which are regularly updated by our staff. These books are freely available for parents to view and share with their children and wider whanau/family.

Our full-time cook provides scrumptious morning and afternoon teas and lunches which nutritionally balanced. Plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables are always on offer to ensure that each meal is meeting the needs of busy young children |

 Our Educator Team
The Lollipops Educare Glen Eden family consists of passionate and dedicated educators all of which either hold a Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education, or are in training. The educators regularly attend Professional Development Courses to ensure they are up to date with the latest theories and practices so you can be sure your children are provided with care and education of the highest standard. A low educator turn over means that your child is able to build strong long term relationships with their educators that lasts throughout their Early Childhood experience.
