Centre PhilosophyLollipops Statement of PhilosophyAt Lollipops Educare Half Moon Bay we believe in creating a family atmosphere for the children parents/whanau and staff. We believe that a warm, caring and respectful environment will help foster the relationships between teachers and families so we can work in partnership to provide an effective learning programme. We believe that fun and laughter should be an integral aspect of each day. We aspire to provide a programme which supports each child’s unique interests and strengths, and that promotes a positive disposition to life-long learning. The children will be offered opportunities to make decisions and direct their own learning, with our teachers there to extend their thinking and provide an environment that is well resourced and developmentally appropriate. The children will be encouraged to take turns, help one another, be responsible for their belongings and to develop social skills and self help skills as a foundation for their future. Our programme will also recognise and celebrate our centre’s cultural diversity while upholding our commitment to The Treaty of Waitangi and Ti Kanga Maori. We are dedicated to professional development to ensure we are providing the best learning environment possible. We will be role models and mentors for our teams and will go that extra mile to support one another. |
